Mill Ridge was once a small, four season
community that included a small ski resort. The
lodge itself was once a ski lodge. The area
behind the lodge is what used to be part of the
slopes and trails. They are now marked hiking
trials that lead up to some very scenic and
beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.
Just across from the lodge are the common grounds
that include the tennis courts, pool (in
season), volleyball, horseshoes, nature-walk
trails, and ponds with flowing streams. You can
picnic or just daydream.
You may also choose to walk the community
roads up the mountain, which are particularly
beautiful during all four seasons. Guests often
enjoy walking just a couple hundred yards across
from the lodge to the Watauga River. Another short
walk from there and you are on Highway 105 in
the Foscoe community. There are some unique
shops and attractions close by as well.
Few High Country area accommodations offer all that is available to you with a stay
at the Lodge at Mill Ridge. We are also very
convenient to all of the High Country's many
attractions.
